Message	There are mics that require power, I doubt this is one but it could be. If it doesn't have power, then the mic won't work. That's how most of the mics are in the pro audio world. The other thing could be the signal level. You're home piece could have a higher sensitivity and allow for a smaller signal to be passed to it. If it doesn't require "phantom power" there there is no reason why if all the wires were correctly connected through the female to female it should not work.
